PUBLIC STREETS
Urban charging starts with a site assessment
Support, supply, permissions and the operating model must be reviewed before proposing an urban charging point configuration.
Compatible supports
Public street charging involves more than choosing a charger. The location must provide suitable support, an electrical supply, and conditions for access and maintenance. The council, authority or person responsible for the site defines the context; technical assessment determines whether the proposal can fit the existing infrastructure. Document these site conditions separately from the equipment options and the management services being considered.
OSHTIA VIAL proposes two Type 2 points integrated into compatible street lights or poles. The street light or pole must be structurally and electrically validated before a location is confirmed. Compatibility with every support is not assumed, and this page does not promise availability or a deployment date.
Supply, conduits and permissions
The project must confirm voltage, available power and the nearest supply point. Maximum configured power is not the same as guaranteed power at every site. Cable sizing, external protection and the required protection rating belong to the electrical design and the conditions of the location.
Existing inspection chambers and conduits may be reused where their assessment permits it. This possibility alone does not demonstrate a specific reduction in works or cost. Routes, accessibility and intervention requirements must be reviewed. Municipal permits and public-way occupancy belong to the responsible authority; OSHTIA does not process permissions or carry out civil works.
Operation and management
Connectivity must be reviewed alongside the operating model. 4G coverage or Ethernet access is validated where remote management or a payment terminal is needed. Users, tariffs, history and alerts depend on AITHANEX or the selected compatible backend. Payment and integration with municipal systems are subject to third parties, contracts, compatibility and configuration.
Review the VIAL datasheet and the scope of OCPP, whose integration is under validation for the supported product configuration. Prepare the proposed support, supply, reusable conduits, permissions and management requirements. OSHTIA supplies equipment and documentation; electrical design, works, legalisation and commissioning remain with those responsible for the site and the installer.
